Adam and Eve
The intrigues and the scandal of Satan had no end. Here as well, among these righteous people Satan squeezed through and ruined the life of Adam and Eve. Fallen under the temptation of Satan, they became victims of his guile. Until they were still in Eden, Satan squeezed covertly through the heavenly spheres transformed into a snake and succeeded to mislead the first woman and to make her pick up the forbidden fruit. Lord saw what happened and banished Adam and Eve from heaven and destined them to live on Earth in hard work and misery while the world stands. And the sinner Eve should generate the world in pain and pangs.
People tell the sad legend about a beautiful maid who was forcibly pent behind conventual walls. Because of her beauty, the nuns called her Madonna. Once a year, pilgrims were allowed to enter the convent. From the window of her cell, she noticed a young and handsome lad riding a white horse. Despite the strict prohibition she run to the church and met the young man in front of he entrance of the temple. A deep love was born between them. Soon, their love came to light. A child’s cry was heard behind the tick walls of the convent and the girl was banished from there to wander about the world with her illegitimate child. And a miracle happened… There were thunder and lightning, a terrible storm raged, and an earthquake razed to the ground both monasteries. In this moment everything petrified. The monks traveling to the monastery stood still. The Madonna, bent with her child, remained lonely and the young man on the white horse stood to wait for his beloved one petrified.
An old legend tells the story of the young maid Latinka and the lad Milotin, and of the hatred of the dervish Abdia. Every evening he stalked them as a beast and in his look were to be seen fury and lust. Abdia understood that he would not attract Latinka because he was ugly, therefore he slandered the young man to be doing rebellious intrigues and the lad was locked up in a cell. In the evening, when Latinka and Milotin had to meet, instead of her beloved one the girl saw the dervish who turned up from the bushes and fastened his fingers on her young body. With one blow the girl broke free and run away. She reached the rocks and because there was no other choice, she started climbing them in order to hide in the cave nearby. When she woke up to the situation, the girl raised her head and saw a meat-eating bear before her. The bear rose to its full height and roared so that the whole valley shuddered. In her fright, Latinka wished to turn into stone. And the miracle happened – everything petrified with one blow.
